Manhattan

Traditionally, a Manhattan only has angostura bitters, but this version includes a small amount of anise from the Peychaud’s bitters to create a more complex version of this whiskey classic.

2 oz rye

1 oz sweet vermouth

3 dash angostura

2 dash peychaud’s bitters

2 drops salt solution (optional)

Orange peel or cherry for garnish

  1. Combine all ingredients into a mixing glass with ice.
  2. Stir well until chilled. Strain into coupe glass.
  3. Garnish with either orange peel or luxardo cherry dropped into glass.
